Last wednesday Fushu Daiko came to the Hialeah Campus of MDC and gave an incredible presentation.
Fushu Daiko is a group of Japanese Drummers that has been training in Taiko Drumming since 1990.
I like their presentation because was something different, a different culture far away from America that came here to show us a little bit of their culture Japan. In this presentation were six perfomers, the first one was Ben Miller, who's been practicing in Fushu Daiko since 1998; Amy Minshew, who brings an aggresive style to Taiko Drumming; Chris Hudspeth, who's been with this community since 2006, Yoshiko Tokuda Carlton, she is the lady who perfoms the Japanese Harp; Yukako Beatty, who was raised in Japan; and Jessica Watson, who is an apprentice.
