1) What did you learn about the relationship of food and culture from watching the movie?
What I could see in this movie is that the Muslims are not that different while eating. They have dinner together like in a group and put attention to the food not with distractions of television or things like that.
I saw one difference in this culture, instead of chairs they use couchs or sofas for the dinning tables and the tables are at the same level as the couches are.
2) Were you tempted to try any foods shown or were you turned off by the food habits of another culture?
Yes, there was a part of the movie in which a man was buying some pastries, those pastries look very delicious. The food habits were good but I was little concerned about the table at the level of the couch. When you eat it's not uncomfortable?? ..... who knows.
3) Is the film making political comments about the consumption of production of food?
No, this film doesn't make political comments because the main conflict of the documentary is not food, it is the homosexuality in Muslims and the problems that they have to faced with their Religion.
4) Are there gender issues raised about who makes or eats the food?
No, in the movie they didn't show that.
5) Did you learn about cultural traditions?
Yes, I did, a lot. The Muslims are people very religious and very dedicated with the Islam and the Qur'an.
These homosexual people have a Jihad that is a like a spiritual conflict because their religious community doesn't accept them and the punishment according to their beliefs is Death.
6) What was your favorite scene in the movie?
My favorite scene in the movie is when a guy perfoms a dance in a restaurant.
7) Would you recommend that your classmates see the movie?
Yes, I would recommend them to see the movie, because it is very interesting and shows a lot of the Muslims around the world and how strict they are with their religion.
